It is not about just teaching speci\ufb01c personal \ufb01nance content, but rather helping people change behaviors and set realistic goals, act, and follow through with positive behaviors that they themselves realize are important to their financial success. Coaching is\u00a0a partnership between the coach and client(s).\u00a0 Financial coaches inform, demonstrate techniques and processes that engage clients in\u00a0developing patterns of behavior that are\u00a0sustainable.<\/p>\n

Financial coaching applies techniques emerging from research in positive psychology, a branch\u00a0of psychology focused on improving life\u00a0experience. Coaching techniques have been used in athletics, health, personnel management, and other settings for decades, and are often embedded into mentoring, counseling, motivational interviewing, or other approaches. \u00a0Financial coaching is\u00a0developing a unique identity related to\u00a0your personal \ufb01nances.\u00a0 Coaches and clients work in four main areas:<\/p>\n
